What does this song mean?

I write songs myself and its kind of like one I would write. Basically, he was with the person this song was intended for. The relationship then terminated and he got over it by getting with another girl. He now is confused because either that person is trying to get him back or he thinks so. But deep inside, he still loves that one person, but he is writing this song trying to tell himself he doesn't. It is an instinct, and he may not even know he loves the person he wrote this song for, but I know he does. Hope this helps! P. S., did he write this for you?
