Which Would Better Fit My Needs/Wants?

Im getting a vehicle soon and I would like to do a little bit of off-roading. Today I just saw a 1997 Jeep Cherokee Laredo w/ 4WD and it looked to me like it could have a 2" lift on it; it had all-american racing rims as well. I've also been looking at Chevrolet ZR2 Blazers because of 4WD, skid plates, and wider stance. So im asking you which would do better with off-roading, and your welcome to suggest other vehicles as well. But keep in mind i don't want to spend more than 6000-7000 :)
