Civil War Era Debates...HELP?

My history final is a debates about the Civil War Era. I was igned the topic of states have the right and power to nullify acts of the Federal Government they disagree with/ or succeed from that government on the affirmative side. I need help with what points to make! Any idea is better than nothing!!! Thanks!!!!
